This coffee comes from the Belismelis family, whose history in coffee traces back to 1863 when Don Emilio Belismelis immigrated from Cádiz, Spain, and began farming in Santa Ana, El Salvador. Now in its fifth and sixth generation, the family oversees 15 farms totaling 880 hectares across all major growing regions in the country, with most located in the west.
The Belismelis farms are Rainforest Alliance certified and focus on sustainable practices, social welfare, and quality improvements. In partnership with Los Volcanes Coffee, the family has implemented farm-level changes to boost quality and yield while keeping production efficient. Coffees are processed at Beneficio San Miguel and evaluated daily at the Los Volcanes lab in Antigua, Guatemala, allowing for real-time feedback and consistent profiles throughout harvest.
