Perched at 1,740 meters on the slopes of the Aberdare Mountains, the Kangunu Farmers Cooperative Society thrives in rich volcanic soils that are deep, well-drained, and full of organic matter — perfect conditions for producing exceptional coffee. Murang’a County coffees can sometimes be softer than those from nearby Nyeri, but Kangunu’s meticulous hand-sorting and careful processing brings out a vibrancy and complexity that rival some top coffees. This AA lot — the largest screen size — was wet-processed and dried slowly on raised beds.
